XO Communications is a full-service provider of communications services. Since going public in 1997, it has attracted investment from a number of large, notable companies, including Forstmann Little. The company currently features an impressive network with approximately 64,000 miles of fiber.
XO offers its VPN solutions solo, or in three bundles, allowing the company to provide a customizable solution without hidden costs. The company's VPN packages offer an Internet package alongside it, and are also accompanied by an optional firewall. The VPN itself is based on a Cisco network.
XO's first bundled package is its Dedicated Internet Access offering for companies in need of a T1 or T3 line. XO will set up the line and VPN, at fractional or full T1 speeds. The bundle also provides T3 access to larger companies, and DS-3 to OC3 access to international hosts using an American networking backbone.
The second bundle is its Digital Subscriber Line for companies that don't require a T1 line but still want a solid Internet infrastructure. This option is ideal for smaller or mid-sized companies.
The third bundle is an add-on to the other two: remote access. This allows remote users to access the company network via XO's network backbone. This option also allows users to access the network through existing Internet connections.
XO can be contacted via their Web site, by telephone at (703) 547-2000, or by fax at (703) 547-2881.
