CSCI’s Pro-Assist VPN solution is delivered using customer premises equipment manufactured by NetScreen Technologies. Using high-speed NetScreen devices, Pro-Assist provides customers with secure VPN communication with each end user location as well as a firewall protecting each location from Internet security threats.

CSCI says a typical VPN engagement with an end user is handled without the need for high end IT professionals at the end user location. Pro-Assist engineers act as an outsourced IT department in the design and deployment of managed VPN solutions. And the company says its integration expertise creates an advantage for customers when incorporating third party WAN equipment, software applications, voice considerations or other possible security initiatives.

The Pro-Assist NOC monitors the status of Internet connections and VPN/firewall devices, and Pro-Assist engineers will help determine the cause of any downtime and work with clients to develop resolutions. Clients have access to a Pro-Assist intranet site offering reporting on service performance and security activity.

Pro-Assist VPN services are available in both a purchase option and a service fee option, depending on whether the customer wants to own its NetScreen equipment. The purchase option includes a number of equipment configurations based on number of users, and ongoing monitoring for a regular monthly service fee. The service fee option includes CPE equipment and monitoring services combined in one monthly fee.
