About Virtela’s VPN Services

Founded by a group of technology and communications industry veterans that has worked since the early 90s designing and building some of the world’s largest data and IP networks, Virtela Communications is a global virtual private network (VPN) service provider, intended to be the world’s most advanced IP VPN network and services organization.

Virtela says its Internet Protocol Service Fabric (IPSF) allows IT managers to deploy business applications over a private IP network, reducing both capital requirements and recurring costs. The company’s VPN solution allows customers to migrate multiple networks to one SLA-backed platform.

The IPSF is the foundation for the delivery of Virtela’s private networking solutions across IP networks. The technology uses proprietary performance routing algorithms to optimize the transport of traffic over multiple backbones to provide reliability and performance. In addition, Virtela says its network architecture limits the amount of equipment that has to be deployed at the customer premise.

Virtela manages customer equipment, local loop access, Internet ports and IP services. Remaining access and carrier neutral allows the company to deliver and manage connectivity including TDM, DSL, Broadband Cable, Wireless and Gigabit Ethernet globally. Customers can also use existing access to connect to Virtela’s services.

Every Virtela solution is supported round-the-clock by the company’s network operations center, which proactively monitors customer premise equipment, IP transit and access. Each Virtela customer also has access to the VirtelaView Customer Network Management System, which allows customers to access account information, monitor network performance in real time and manage trouble tickets.

According to the company, Virtela tailors each of its solutions to that customer’s current and future networking requirements, taking a consultative approach to both large and small customers. A dedicated team meets with customers to identify needs, designs an appropriate solution and performs ongoing support, analysis and progression of the environment.

Customers interested in learning more about Virtela can contact the company via its Web site (Virtela.net) or by telephone at (877) 803-9629 or (720) 475-4000.
