ZyXEL Launches Firewall and VPN Router
August 12, 2002 -- Communications equipment manufacturer ZyXEL (ZyXEL.com) announced on Monday that it has released its ZyWALL 10 II VPN and Firewall router to meet the needs of the SMB market.
Including an accelerated VPN engine, the ZyWALL 10 II, says ZyXEL, is targeted to companies that depend on VPN tunnels to maintain the transfer of sensitive information between geographically dispersed locations.
The company says the ZyWALL 10 II provides the same VPN power as its ZyWALL 50 and ZyWALL 100 products for enterprises and large businesses. The ZyWALL 10 II provies 3DES VPN performance of up to 5Mbps through a 10/100 Ethernet WAN port, a comparable performance to the company’s higher-level VPN firewall routers.
Designed specifically for SOHO and SMB users, ZyXEL says the ZyWALL 10 II is ideal for sharing broadband Internet access and providing network security, allowing up to 10 users to securely access corporate networks through encrypted VPN tunnels.
The Device acts as a secure gateway between the Internet and the LAN, says ZyXEL, providing the first line of defense against network attacks and external threats. It also offers security and network management features like content and packet filtering in addition to its VPN and firewall functions.
