Yo.net Launches Beta Programs for VPN Alternatives
March 19, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Yo.net (yo.net), a developer of network convergence software solutions, announced on Tuesday the start of the beta programs for its VisEdge.Enterprise, a multi-gate remote access security management solution for enterprises, and its VisEdge.Extranet, an inter-gate secure collaboration platform.
Both solutions, says the company, employ Yo.net’s split-gate architecture, designed to deliver network security and process automation by brokering authentication and encryption services to integrated back office servers. The two new products expand on the company’s existing offerings based in its VisEdge secure private network platform.
VisEdge.Extranet, says Yo.net, is an IP-based remote access alternative to virtual private networks (VPN), designed to enable administrators to create “trusted gateway” accounts with other organizations by using a decentralized authentication system that eliminates the need for centralized access lists. The result, says the company, is a solid platform for complex supply chain management platforms.
Yo.net says its VisEdge.Enterprise builds on the company’s first remote access solution, VisEdge.Intranet, delivering higher levels of load balancing, access security management, session monitoring and reporting for globally distributed networks. The product is designed as a VPN alternative for high-load and high-risk scenarios requiring more flexibility and less IT management.
The two products can be deployed on their own, or integrated to deliver a unified platform for remote access and secure inter-company collaboration. The secure private network, once built, allows users easy access to all of their network based information, wherever they are.
"The industry has responded with great enthusiasm to our first generation product, VisEdge.Intranet,” says Yo.net’s chief technology architect, Trung Nguyen. “Our new products will enable the largest organizations to deploy scalable and robust multi-gate secure private networks and to build dynamic, decentralized extranets in a fraction of the time it typically takes today."
