WatchGuard Announces Managed Security Software
July 18, 2002 -- Internet security solution developer WatchGuard Technologies Inc. (WatchGuard.com) announced on Wednesday that it has released WatchGuard for MSS 6.0, a free software upgrade for managed security partners that is currently available for download from the company’s LiveSecurity Web site.
WatchGuard says MSS 6.0 is a complete firewall and VPN solution that can be used to support the company’s Firebox II and Firebox III product lines. MSS 6.0 enhances VPN functionality, providing increased stability and scalability of IPSec tunnels and extended authentication to support Windows NT and RADIUS authentication of SafeNet mobile user IPSec clients.
"WatchGuard for MSS 6.0 is another milestone in our commitment to our managed security customers," says Paul Brickel, senior product manager for MSS at WatchGuard. "We have incorporated many of the key features from our innovative Firebox System 6.0 software that we released earlier this month. Our managed security customers will now have enhanced VPN functionality, enhanced proxy capabilities, including a new DNS proxy protection, and new and enhanced security and logging protections, including one-to-one NAT and intrusion detection integration."
