WatchGuard Appoints New Directors
April 25, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Internet security solution provider WatchGuard Technologies Inc. (WatchGuard.com) announced on Thursday that it has appointed Ellen M. Hancock, Michael R. Kourey and Richard A. LeFaivre, Ph.D. to its board of directors.
Hancock, says WatchGuard, is the former chairman and chief executive officer of hosting and managed services company Exodus Communications. She was previously executive vice president of research and development and chief technology officer of Apple Computer Inc. She also held senior positions at National Semiconductor Corporation and IBM.
Kourey is chief financial officer and director of video and voice conferencing provider Polycom Inc. He was previously vice president of operations for Verilink Corporation, and also serves as a director of 2Wire Inc. and as a member of the advisory board to Santa Clara University's business school.
LeFaivre, says WatchGuard, is executive director of the William J. von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism and Technology Advancement at the University of California, San Diego, which is focused on the commercialization of university-developed technology. He is also a founder and Managing Partner of venture development organization IdeaEdge Ventures.
