WatchGuard Firebox V60L Offers VPN Firewall
March 17, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Internet security solutions provider WatchGuard Technologies Inc. (WatchGuard.com) announced this week that it has released the Firebox V60L, the latest addition to the company's line of Firebox Vclass security appliances, designed to provide mid-sized enterprises with firewall and VPN functions.
Based on WatchGuard's intelligent ASIC architecture, says the company, the Firebox V60L delivers 100 Mbps firewall performance and 50 Mbps 3DES VPN throughput in a 1RU appliance, and enables companies to connect up to 50 remote sites and 100 remote users with meshed VPNs.
Like the rest of the Firebox Vclass line, says Watchguard, the V60Lis based on an intelligent custom security ASIC that accelerates firewall, VPN, NAT and QoS actions. Its Java-based management application, predefined services and policy checker are designed to speed service deployment and configuration.
"Mid-size enterprise customers are asking for a product like the Firebox V60L that will give them higher performance and more scalability than competitive products in the same price range," said Jean Nassar, senior vice president of marketing for WatchGuard. "It's a stronger, smarter security solution that gives customers more value now and enables them to upgrade easily and economically as their business grows. Like our entire Vclass line, the Firebox V60L is specifically optimized to provide superior security while delivering enterprise-level performance."
