V-ONE Introduces Graphical VPN Management
March 28, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- V-ONE Corporation (v-one.com), a Internet security technology company, announced on Thursday the immediate availability of its SmartGuard Command Center graphical management tool for VPN technology.
The SmartGuard Command Center, says V-ONE, allows for the secure remote management of a fully meshed SmartGuard VPN network for large-scale enterprises and administrators.
The product provides a color-coded interface, displaying the health and status of continually monitored VPN network devices, says the company.
Using the command center’s powerful management capabilities, IT administrators can rapidly create IPSec tunnels, change configurations in remote units, add new devices and manage the VPN network from a centralized location.
"Corporations with multiple remote offices rarely have IT staff located at each of those sites, yet they need the ability to manage their VPN hardware physically located at each office," says Margaret Grayson, V-ONE president and CEO. "The ability for a centrally-located IT manager to easily monitor and control tunnels in a large VPN network from a simple graphical interface provides a very cost-effective centralized management capability to corporations.”
V-ONE says that research has demonstrated the need of service providers and large enterprises for productivity tools to help them effectively manage their VPN solutions. The addition of SmartGuard Command Center strengthens the company’s ability to satisfy the needs of service providers and large enterprises looking to implement VPNs.
The SmartGuard suite of appliances, says V-ONE, uses the company’s SmartGate VPN software, which offers powerful features for authentication, access control and encryption. The device includes a complete VPN solution, including an integrated firewall.
