VocalTec, Commuture Provide VoIP for Tier 1 Carriers
April 1, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- VocalTech Communications Ltd. (vocaltec.com), a leading telecom equipment provider, and Commuture Corp. (commuture.com), a leading provider of info-communications solutions headquartered in Japan, announced on Monday that they have signed a distribution agreement designed to bring the full range of VocalTec’s VoIP solutions to Tier 1 Carriers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Commuture, the newly formed 3.8 billion Yen company resulting from the consolidation of KTK Telecommunications Engineering Co. LTD., and J-COS Corporation, will promote and market VocalTec’s VoIP Solutions, including international and long distance services, Voice VPN, Calling Card and Exchange Carrier services worldwide. Commuture’s extensive technical support organization in Asia will also provide carrier-grade support for VocalTec solutions.
Commuture, says VocalTec, has committed significant resources to the relationship, expanding its verification lab infrastructure and building facilities to demonstrate VocalTec products and services to potential customers.
"Partnering with VocalTec will certainly add value to our solutions and fortify the esteem enjoyed by our company," says Hideya Mukaiyama, managing director of Commuture Corp. "Outfitted with the full portfolio of VocalTec's carrier-grade solutions, including Packet Tandem Switching and Voice VPN, we have substantially improved our ability to serve our large carrier customers within Japan. In parallel, we are now also able to tap into the global VoIP market."
Commuture, says VocalTec, is a market leader in carrier-grade communications solutions, particularly outsourced technical support. With 2,100 skilled employees, Commuture has technical support personnel or local partners in most Asian countries.
"This agreement will enable us to provide high-quality carrier-grade VoIP solutions, localization services and local technical support in Japan and other Asian countries based on Commuture's extensive support organization," says Rolf Lumpe, president of VocalTec Communications Japan.
