VocalTec Wins Frost & Sullivan VoIP Award
January 16, 2003 -- Telecom equipment provider VocalTec Communications Ltd. (VocalTec.com) announced on Thursday that it has won a Market Engineering Award for VoIP Market Shaping from industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan.
The award was presented to VocalTec at the 2003 Excellence in Information & Communication Technology Awards Banquet in Scottsdale, Arizona on Wednesday, January 15.
Frost & Sullivan's analyst team ranked VocalTec first in the industry, based on global market criteria, including rate of expansion into new geographic markets, global changes in market share, and overseas partnerships.
VocalTec has commercial deployments in more than 100 countries, says the company. Particularly in deregulating and emerging markets, carriers require basic voice services that can be deployed quickly with low entry costs. VocalTec says it is well-equipped to serve such carriers based on its proven solutions, global connectivity and experience in international deployments.
"This award is a tribute to VocalTec's strategy and successful ongoing efforts in emerging and deregulating markets around the globe," said Ari Rabban, VocalTec's Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing. "Our international capabilities, fast time to market and global partnerships make our packet telephony solutions a perfect fit for these markets."
