VeriSign Australia Launches Imperito Managed VPN

September 25, 2002 -- Internet trust organization VeriSign Australia (VeriSign.com.au) announced on Wednesday that it has launched Imperito’s (Imperito.com) SafeSecure Access Managed virtual private network service in Australia and New Zealand.

SafeSecure Access Managed Service, says VeriSign Australia, is a subscription-based secure access solution that reduces the complexity and time involved in deploying a VPN service.

The SafeSecure Access Managed Service deployment is the first stem in an agreement between Imperito and VeriSign Australia to deliver secure remote access services and solutions for VPNs using VeriSign’s PKI services infrastructure. Imperito is also a member of the VeriSign Technology Partner Program, focused on creating communications and commerce solutions.

"Although the security benefits of VPNs are generally understood, many small to medium enterprises are apprehensive about establishing VPNs because they assume deployment will be too costly or difficult," said Gregg Rowley, VeriSign Australia's managing director. "Imperito's SafeSecure Access Managed Service provides these enterprises with an instant solution that doesn't require additional hardware, software or network security expertise to get up and running."

Imperito’s SafeSecure Access Managed Service provides a cost-effective VPN option, including a Web-based management console that allows administrators to set up gateways, issue clients, create isolated VPNs, view traffic and alert logs and manage the entire remote network from a Web browser.
