Trust Digital Launches PDASecure VPN for PDA Devices
September 27, 2002 -- PDA security solution developer Trust Digital (TrustDigital.com) announced the release of its PDASecure VPN version 1.0 managed VPN and data security product for PDA handheld devices Thursday at PalmSource Inc.’s Open House event.
PDASecure VPN, says Trust Digital, is a VPN software client compatible with Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds, offering secure client-to-gateway communications over wireless networks.
According to Trust Digital, the client is a secure remote access product and uses IPSec Encryption, 802.11 security and authentication that secures client-to-gateway or client-to-client communications. The new product provides an additional layer of security, complimenting virus protection and firewalls.
"Trust Digital continues to fill the gap in this market and is working to secure the foundation of all types of communications including wireless, 802.11, networking, and e-commerce applications," said Kevin Shahbazi, Trust Digital's vice president of marketing. "PDASecure VPN will bring wireless security to a new level of reliability. Companies and individuals alike are recognizing the importance of protecting the data that is stored on their PDAs. The portable nature of these devices increases the risk of having vital personal or corporate data falling into the wrong hands."
