TrustWorks and Tadpole Deliver Remote Network Security Appliance
March 5, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- TrustWorks Systems B.V. (trustworks.com), a provider of network security management software, and Tadpole (tadpole.com), a mobile computing and network infrastructure developer and vendor, announced jointly on Monday that they have formed a business and technology alliance aimed at providing multi-location enterprises with simpler, more effective network security management capabilities.
Designed around Tadpole’s range of Solaris products, the companies say their combined solution will include TrustWorks’ Trusted Gate software installed on the Solaris appliance. The appliance is designed to enable the rapid deployment of secure remote office virtual private networks. Coupled with TrustWorks’ Trusted Global Security Manager, say the companies, the solution will allow organizations to centrally managed and configure network security devices at satellite locations.
The centralized management function of the bundled appliance is designed to deliver a fast return on investment, enhancing network security by automatically enforcing new and updated security policies. This, say the companies, eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming manual updates and ensuring that policies are up to date. The appliance, they say, is designed for large enterprises with remote office locations, allowing them to control security from the central office.
"Our partnership with Tadpole is the first of many steps in providing remote offices with a highly scalable and reliable device that meets the needs of satellite offices," said Joel Silberman, vice president of business development at TrustWorks. "The bundled product plugs a gap in the marketplace for an easy to manage, Solaris based security device."
Tadple says it, too is excited about the joint project, and looking forward to further integrating the complementary products of the two organizations.
The companies say the portable, easily-deployed device is available for delivery immediately.
