Network Telephone Introduces VPN Services
November 12, 2002 -- Local telephone, long distance and high-speed Internet service provider Network Telephone Corp. (NetworkTelephone.net) announced on Tuesday that it has added virtual private networking to its product menu of voice and data services for small to mid-sized businesses.
Network Telephone says its VPN services allow interoffice file sharing and remote access. A router installed at connecting locations allow the creation of a private tunnel between terminals and network resources.
"Technology and cost limitations have limited the availability of VPN services to only the largest corporations," says Network Telephone chief executive officer Ray Russenberger. "Network Telephone's broadband phone and Internet facilities extend the availability of VPN to small to mid-sized businesses."
Network Telephone says it has three types of VPN service to suit a variety of business needs; Interoffice VPN; Remote PC VPN; and Port Forwarding Router Service. Charges for the service range from $10 to $50 per month per connection point.
