Stonesoft and True North Partner to Offer Affordable VPN Solution
February 18, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Today at the RSA Conference 2002, the world’s largest gathering of security professionals, Stonesoft Corporation and True North Solutions, Inc. (truenorthsolutions.net) unveiled TrueGate, a cost-effective security appliance that will be made available in April, 2002.
Designed to extend the centrally managed corporate firewall and VPN to branch offices, TrueGate security appliances will be constructed with customized Intel-architecture hardware from True North Solutions and with firewall and VPN solutions from Stonesoft.
Stonesoft (stonesoft.com), a provider of enterprise-level security and high availability software, is confident that the partnership with True North, a network security and wireless integration consulting company, will be successful.
"TrueGate is designed for rapid firewall and VPN deployment. It will provide the most cost-effective way for a multi-location company to secure the network, provide VPN communications, and ensure fault-tolerant firewall and Internet connectivity," said Bobby Christian, chief executive officer and executive vice president of True North Solutions.
Supporting multiple ISP lines, scalable clusters, dynamic routing, load balancing, VPNs and three-tiered central management, the appliances can be tailored to fit the customer’s need. To minimize technical problems, TrueGate has no moving parts. The application software resides on Compact Flash cards, eliminating hard drive-related problems and streamlining installation and maintenance requirements.
"With speeds up to 200 Mbps, up to seven interfaces, and the OS on a flash card, these appliances will be very attractive to customers in markets from SMB through the enterprise," said Eoghan O'Neill, chief technology officer of Dataway, Inc..
