SonicWall Introduces Secure Remote Access
July 17, 2002 -- Internet security solution provider SonicWall Inc. (SonicWall.com) announced on Tuesday that it has introduced the TELE3 Smart Path, a secure firewall and VPN appliance capable of supporting both broadband and dial-up connections and delivering uninterrupted remote connectivity in a portable hardware appliance.
According to SonicWall, the TELE3 SP’s automated fail-over and fail-back technology maintains the "smartest path" back to the network headquarters, overcoming broadband interruptions and ensuring uptime by automatically switching over to an integrated modem. When the broadband connection is re-established, the TELE3 SP detects it and fails back to the broadband connection.
The solution, says SonicWall, is well suited to applications such as automated teller machines, kiosks and other point-of-sale businesses, which rely on secure Internet connections for transaction processing and can’t afford interruptions in connectivity.
"Part of what makes the TELE3 SP unique in the security industry is its ease of integration with the SonicWall PRO and GX Series VPN concentrators and its centralized management with SonicWall GMS," says Tom Furlong, SonicWALL senior vice-president of product development. "This integrated and managed solution for point-of-sale, kiosk and remote access connectivity opens new market opportunities for SonicWall to deliver its world-class security solutions."
