SonicWALL Releases Firewall/VPN Appliance
April 15, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Internet security solutions provider SonicWALL Inc. (SonicWALL.com) announced on Monday that it has released the SOHO TZW, a fireall appliance that integrates secure wireless and virtual private networking technologies, bridging the IT administrator's need for security and the user's demand for convenient wireless connectivity.
Though many organizations, especially small businesses, are moving quickly toward the deployment of wireless LAN technology, says SonicWALL, many wireless LAN deployments do not meet modern security standards, either because they open back doors to corporate networks, or they are deployed using flawed security protocols.
The SonicWALL SOHO TZW, says the company, allows administrators to enforce IPSec authentication and encryption between the LAN and WLAN, creating a Trusted Zone for Wireless (TZW). The solution includes SonicWALL's Global VPN client that automatically downloads security policy settings to enforce wireless security.
"The SOHO TZW enables businesses of all sizes to implement wireless in their networks safely," said Douglas Brockett, SonicWALL vice president of worldwide marketing. "The SOHO TZW not only brings superior price/performance, but its unique combination of features and its new management interface also makes it simple for network administrators to deploy secure wireless networks."
