Solsoft Simplifies VPN Interoperability
September 23, 2002 -- Visual security policy management solution provider Solsoft Inc. (Solsoft.com) said on Monday that its Solsoft NP product now supports VPN devices from Cisco Systems, Intel and Nortel, making it one of the most interoperable policy management systems available.
The proprietary technology used by many VPN vendors, says Solsoft, makes implementing network using disparate systems extremely difficult. By supporting VPN technology from multiple vendors, Solsoft simplifies the management of VPNs, allowing them to integrate with other routers, switches and firewalls.
In reaction to customer demand, says Solsoft, the company is announcing support for a range of new VPN devices, including the Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator series, the Nortel Contivity Secure IP Services Gateway portfolio and Intel’s VPN Gateway product line, in addition to its existing support for the Cisco IOS routers and Cisco PIX firewalls as well as its extensive support of routers, switches and firewalls from Cisco, Check Point, Nortel and Symantec.
"We expanded VPN interoperability at the request of a growing number of end-user and managed service provider customers," says Frank Guerrero, vice president of marketing, Solsoft. "Interoperable VPNs between disparate vendors has been, and continues to be, a network security obstacle. By expanding our supported vendor list, we further eliminate this obstacle."
