SnapGear Expands into European Markets

November 26, 2002 -- Internet security solution provider SnapGear Inc. (SnapGear.com) announced on Tuesday that it is pushing forward with expansion throughout the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region with the opening of a UK office.

Along with the opening of the UK office, SnapGear Inc. says it has signed contracts with 15 distributors across the region and appointed Chris Greaves as Manager of Sales for EMEA. Greaves previously directed European sales for Rapidstream Inc.

SnapGear says the market for its VPN Firewall solutions is growing quickly, with Infonetics Research reporting that the worldwide VPN and firewall market hit $668 million in the third quarter of 2002, and forecasting that it will reach $874 million by the third quarter of 2003.

"Europe is an excellent market for us,” says Rick Stevenson, CEO of SnapGear. “We have won a number of large OEM contracts, making the last quarter our best ever. Now with Chris Greaves on board, SnapGear has direct sales and distribution operations in the USA, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom as well as a network of 30 channel distribution partners in other countries."
