Siemens Enterprise Networks Appoints New President
March 2, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. (www.icn.siemens.com), a leading provider of integrated voice and data networks and solutions for enterprises and a subsidiary of Siemens AG, announced on Friday that Joseph G. Licata, Jr. would become president of Siemens Enterprise Networks (SEN) in the United States.
Replacing George C. Nolen, who was recently named president and CEO of Siemens Information and Communication Networks in the United States, as president, Licata will be responsible for all SEN activities in the United States.
Before assuming the position of president, Licata was senior vice president of sales at SEN. "Joe Licata has played a critical role in the strengthening of Siemens position in the U.S. enterprise communications market," says Nolen. "He has helped create the strategic blueprint that has enabled SEN to become a true solutions provider."
"The weakened economy and the technology shift in the enterprise market represent both a challenge and a unique opportunity for Siemens," says Licata. "With our new HiPath convergence products and services, Siemens stands in an excellent position to help enterprises of all sizes create business value by leveraging the exciting opportunities offered by IP convergence technologies today."
Licata joined ROLM Corporation, later acquired by Siemens, in 1983 and held various executive positions before becoming senior vice president of sales in 1998.
