Siemens Receives Frost & Sullivan Award
January 8, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- The Enterprise Networks division of Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. (ICN.Siemens.com) announced on Tuesday that it has received the Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Award for Product Innovation.
The award was given to Siemens in recognition of its converged switching solutions for government end users.
"Siemens has clearly demonstrated the ability to develop and advance differentiated products with more innovative capabilities than competing vendors," said Darryl Firth, director of the market engineering awards program at Frost & Sullivan. "Such innovation is expected to significantly contribute to the telecommunications industry in terms of product performance and degree and rate of technical change. The evolutionary approach to connecting legacy switching technology with new IP-based technology is just what the industry needs to move towards next-generation services."
The Product Innovation award was given to Siemens on the basis of data from the recent Frost & Sullivan report "U.S. Government Telecommunications Market." The report noted the company's leading role in product innovation, the rate at which Siemens has developed new products and the company's high satisfaction ratings. It also identified the successful implementation of Siemens converged technology in the town of Burlington, Massachusetts, and in the US Army Digital Switched Modernization Program.
