Shiva Launches VPN Technology Protection Program
March 25, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Virtual private network and security solutions provider Shiva Corporation (Shiva.com) announced on Monday that it has launched the Shiva "VPN Technology Protection Program" designed to offer installed customers of Shiva and its OEM partners investment protection and a technology migration path.
The program, says Shiva, offers a one year hardware or software maintenance agreement to cover legacy VPN products that had not been previously eligible for support, or a hardware upgrade to the latest Shiva LanRover VPN Gateway for up to 50 percent off the list price. Both offers are limited, and end on April 30, 2003.
"Shiva is committed to delivering high performance technology with high ROI programs to our installed base," said Steve Fischer, executive vice president of sales and marketing of Shiva Corporation. "and the VPN Technology Protection Program is the first in a series of initiatives to deliver on that commitment. Through this program we are providing a continuity path to customers who are looking to extend the life of their existing Shiva investments, as well as those seeking to migrate cost effectively to our latest, award-winning VPN hardware, software and support solutions."
The Shiva VPN Maintenance Agreement is designed to offer maintenance to customers who previously purchased Shiva, or third-party branded, products that have become ineligible or lost support, says the company. The VPN "Refresh" Program is designed to provide a path for migration to the new Shiva LanRover 3105 or LanRover 3125 VPN Gateway, along with Shiva's Gold or Platinum support. Customers with legacy Shiva or third-party products are eligible to receive 30 percent off the list pricem and another 20 percent if the original VPN product is returned to Shiva.
