ServGate Debuts EdgeForce VPN Appliance
November 26, 2002 -- Internet security gateway manufacturer ServGate Technologies Inc. (ServGate.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched the EdgeForce Plus integrated security appliance, designed for enterprises that rely on site-to-site and remote access connectivity.
Based on the same design principles as ServGate’s EdgeForce platform, the EdgeForce plus is a 3-port security appliance integrating firewall, VPN, virus scanning, URL filtering and Web caching to provide complete edge-based enterprise security. The device includes a tune encryption processor that enhances VPN performance.
"Secure remote connectivity is a cornerstone of modern business. Organizations who effectively deploy and manage VPN technology have a clear and distinct advantage over those organizations that are late to adopt," says Dario Zamarian, ServGate's vice president of Marketing and Business Development. "The ServGate EdgeForce Plus was purpose-built to launch businesses into the world of secure remote connectivity, further adding to ServGate's value proposition of simplifying the deployment and management of multi-layer network security."
Like the recently launched EdgeForce platform, the EdgeForce Plus includes the FlexModule system allowing IT managers to scale the appliance with a simple software licensing system. FlexModules can be installed and activated without taking the appliance out of the rack.
Along with the EdgeForce Plus, ServGate launched its new VPN Client software earlier this month. The VPN Client is based on the SafeNet SoftRemote v9.
