Secure Computing Announces IBM Trivoli Management Functions
March 4, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Secure Computing Corporation (securecomputing.com), a leading provider of enterprise access control solutions, announced on Monday the newly developed interoperability between Secure’s SidewinderT firewall and VPN gateway and Trivoli Risk Manager, IBM’s software platform for enterprise threat management.
Trivoli Risk Manager is a threat management solution, designed to provide centralized management of threat, attacks and vulnerabilities by correlating security information from firewalls, anti-virus, intrusion detection systems, servers, operating systems and other sources.
The combined solution, says Secure, will deliver comprehensive monitoring and alerting of perimeter threats.
"We are pleased to add Sidewinder to the list of security products that can be monitored using Tivoli Risk Manager, providing administrators with a valuable tool to effectively manage and proactively assess the state of their enterprise security," says Arvind Krishna, vice president of security products, Tivoli Software, IBM Software Group.
The new interoperability, says Secure Computing, will enable Trivoli Risk Manager to accept and manage Sidewinder security alert notifications. According to the company, the combination will allow administrators to managed security risks and threats, enabling viewing and analysis of Sidewinder events alerts, along with those of other security devices, from a centralized console.
The SidewinderT firewall and VPN gateway, which Secure Computing says has never been compromised, employs a range of firewall security mechanisms including stateful packet inspection, circuit level proxies, application filtering, secured servers and real-time alerts.
