Schlumberger Launches DeXa.Net Secure Private Network
August 15, 2002 -- Technology services company Schlumberger (SLB.com) announced on Tuesday that it has released its DeXa.Net MPLS-based Secure Private Network (SPN) offering, a part of its DeXa suite of services.
The service, says Schlumberger, is a secure IP-based virtual private network that uses MPLS to provide faster, simpler and more reliable connectivity than some of today’s more common solutions.
Schlumberger says MPLS is the new standard for building service provider networks, with features that enhance services, operations and reliability in packet networks. MPLS labels help to ensure private delivery within a VPN, as well as help to ensure that different types of traffic are handled properly.
"Technology has driven our business for 75 years, and Schlumberger is proud of its legacy of advancing global information solutions with innovation and integrity," says Paul Stewart, vice president, Marketing and Technique, Schlumberger Network & Infrastructure Solutions. "Schlumberger is pleased to launch the MPLS-enabled Secure Private Network through DeXa.Net."
