SafeNet Announces VPN Client for Pocket PC 2002
September 25, 2002 -- Internet security technology provider SafeNet (SafeNet-Inc.com) announced on Wednesday that it has released SoftRemotePDA for the Pocket PC 2002.
Compatible with any portable handheld device using Pocket PC 2002, including the Compaq iPAQ and Casio Cassiopeia, SoftRemotePDA for Pocket PC 2002 secures connections between handheld devices and the corporate network.
The handheld client software, says SafeNet, s based on the company’s standard VPN client software SoftRemote, which is currently licensed to 35 leading OEM manufacturers.
"Our VPN software is truly the industry de facto standard," says Anthony Caputo, chairman and CEO of SafeNet. "Today we are extending our market position so that Pocket PC users can now communicate securely with corporate networks. SoftRemotePDA for the Pocket PC 2002, like all of our VPN products, has successfully passed SafeNet's stringent interoperability tests with a wide variety of VPN gateways. SoftRemotePDA, now available for both Pocket PC and Palm, will allow organizations to offer a wide variety of proven and interoperable security technology to its mobile wireless users."
