SafeNet Appoints GM of Embedded Security
April 17, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Network security solutions provider SafeNet Inc. (SafeNet.com) announced on Wednesday that it has appointed David Potts to lead SafeNet's Embedded Security Division, naming him senior vice president and General Manager of its embedded security division.
In his new position, says SafeNet, Potts will be responsible for all aspects of SafeNet's embedded security business, including sales, marketing, engineering and product management. Potts, says SafeNet, brings more than 10 years of experience ranging from engineering and product management to executive business leadership.
During a successful career at Texas Instruments as worldwide director of OMAP wireless applications, Potts led the formation of engineering and business teams in four emerging market segments resulting in multibillion-dollar returns. At SafeNet, Potts will play a key role in expanding the success of the company's embedded security division and fostering partnerships with key customers.
"We are extremely pleased that David has agreed to join SafeNet in such a key position, with the responsibility to continue the trend of deploying SafeNet technology throughout different industries and maintaining our status as the de facto standard for VPN technology," said Anthony Caputo, chairman, and CEO of SafeNet. "I've had the opportunity to work with David over the last few years while he led the OMAP Applications Program at Texas Instruments, and I'm thrilled that such a capable executive has joined SafeNet."
