NetSilica Announces Enterprise Remote Access Solution

February 19, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Netsilica, a software company focused on remote access solution, announced on Tuesday that it has made generally available its Enterprise Peer Network product, a managed peer-to-peer solution designed to allow companies to connect remote employees, partners and clients securely to business data through any Web browser.

According to NetSilica, the EPN technology has been deployed and running successfully with a number of organizations, including John Hopkins University, for more than three months.

"Creating remote access for employees, business partners or clients has become a critical need for businesses across diverse industries," said Bob Marmon, chairman and CEO of NetSilica. "Costs, security concerns and the complexity of deployment have hindered the capacity to create effective, enterprise wide deployment for large groups and almost eliminated the opportunity for smaller groups to benefit from a secure remote access solution. We developed EPN with these barriers in mind."

NetSilica says its Enterprise Peer Network technology can be used as a standalone solution, or in conjunction with an existing VPN setup. It can also be used as a complimentary security feature, or as a solution among individual workgroups within the VPN.

Because it is designed to work for both companies with and without IT support, Enterprise Peer Network requires little maintenance or support, and allows companies to easily manage user access.

The product’s features include simple deployment, self configuring and provisioning, multiple security layers, and a managed environment with enhanced administrative features.

The Enterprise Peer Network technology is available as a licensed solution or as a hosted application on a subscription basis either directly with NetSilica or through its channel partners. Additional security, encryption and functionality modules are available for both licensed and hosted solutions.
