Radware, Pyramid, Check Point Deliver VPN Solution

April 3, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Radware (radware.com), a leading provider of intelligent application switching, announced on Tuesday that it is introducing a new joint security solution combining technologies from Radware, Pyramid Computers GmbH (pyramid.de) and Check Point Software Technologies (checkpoint.com).

The solution uses Radware’s FireProof Security Application Switch to provide availability and load balancing for Pyramid Computers’ Charlie Servers, which integrate Check Point’s VPN-1/FireWall-1 platform, and are certified as “Secured by Check Point.”

The joint solution, says Radware, supports over 2 Gbps of throughput for firewall traffic and over 1 Gbps of VPN traffic. Designed for customers with high throughput networks, the solution offers virtually unlimited simultaneous sessions.

“We have created an incredibly fast firewall and VPN traffic management solution for customers that require optimized performance, high availability and control of their security devices,” says Doron Goldberg, VP telecom business at Radware. “The solution combines our award winning Security Application Switch to provide complete control over enterprises’ security infrastructures, with high powered servers from Pyramid. The end result is a solution that will secure and optimize firewall and VPN traffic in the most intense high throughput environments.”

Radware’s FireProof Security Application Switch, says the company, is a state of the art switching architecture providing availability and performance optimization for firewalls, virtual private networks and intrusion detection systems. The device’s enhanced application security and DoS protection provide an additional layer of defense with over 450 attack signatures and continuous monitoring and blocking of suspicious traffic.

“Pyramid offers in this joint activity all of its core expertise in designing and building powerful appliances,” says Frieder Hansen, CEO and president of Pyramid. “Building dedicated servers for each net application in partnership with outstanding technology partners is the most customer orientated way of marketing high-tech solutions in the IT networking field.”
