Prudential Uses Adlex VPN Monitoring
April 4, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web infrastructure management company Adlex Inc. (adlex.com) announced on Tuesday that Prudential Financial Inc. has implemented the company’s UserVisibility Client View 4.3 to monitor the end-to-end user response time of its Internet based virtual private network.
UV Client View 4.3, says Adlex, is an end-to-end performance management solution designed to provide performance management and operations support for the deployment of Internet based VPNs. The product measures the actual response time encountered by each VPN user, detecting problems and enabling fast fault domain isolation.
"UserVisibility helps us meet the challenge of troubleshooting network outages or user performance problems," says Ed Mann, vice president, information systems at Prudential Financial. "UserVisibility gives us a complete view of whether our VPN is operating properly and meeting the needs of our users."
Using UV Client View, says Adlex, IT support staff can resolve individual user problems easily, as well as proactively solve problems before they become serious.
"Prudential's selection of Client View shows clearly the need to measure the response time of all VPN users," says Tad Witkowicz, founder and president, Adlex Inc. "VPNs are deployed to cut WAN costs and to provide flexibility for communications with remote users; thus benefits will not be realized if users are not happy with the performance."
According to Adlex, UV Client View can assist in the management, design and operation of security systems by delivering answers to whether the VPN is delivering normal performance, whether users are receiving acceptable response times, whether service providers are delivering on SLA, which applications are running poorly and why, how many users are accessing the VPN and whether capacity is affecting their experiences.
