NTT America Opens Chicago IP VPN Node
January 16, 2003 -- NTT Communications Corporation subsidiary NTT America (NTTAmerica.com) announced on Wednesday that it has opened a new IP VPN node in Chicago, intended to further the company's ability to support communications services for Midwestern-based multinational corporations seeking connections to Europe and Asia.
NTT's Global IP VPN service, says the company, was developed in response to customer demand for a solution combining the ubiquity of an IP network with the reliability and security of a carrier-controlled network. The company's Global IP Network Operation Centers monitor access circuits and VPN for secure and seamless network transmission.
According to NTT America, the company's MPLS node supports a secure, reliable and scalable MPLS-based IP-VPN solutions. The service allows customers in the region to enjoy significant cost reduction by allowing them to plug in to NTT's global IP VPN network.
"The addition of the new IP-VPN node in Chicago further strengthens our ability to service the diversified manufacturing, financial, and professional service industries in the Midwest," said Dave Ryan, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NTT America. "Our Chicago VPN node supports logical private network operating over a shared network. This allows our enterprise customers of the region to enjoy security of a closed network while taking advantage of economy of IP-VPN, optimizing their communications investment."
