NLynx Launches New Company, VPN Gateway
August 7, 2002 -- IBM equipment peripheral provider NLynx Technologies (NLynx.com) announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the assets of NLynx Systems in a restructuring move intended to promote continuity and market expansion.
Along with the new business initiatives, NLynx launched the new InterLynx/TS virtual private network gateway and firewall for remote offices. The InterLynx/TS is designed for the small to medium business sector, providing a low-priced solution for secure access to services on corporate-based IBM iSeries machines.
"NLynx Systems has been recognized for its quality and expertise in the IBM connectivity arena," says Alan Humphrey, president and CEO of NLynx Technologies. "This acquisition is a commitment to the former company's customers and traditional product base development, while enabling NLynx Technologies to advance into leading edge markets, such as network security, SMB and remote access."
The InterLynx/TS, says NLynx, combines VPN, Ethernet 10/100 switching and firewall capabilities in a single network appliance. The device employs triple DES 168-bit encryption.
