NetScreen Security Solutions Win Top Honors in Taiwan's Chiao Tung University Benchmark Test
November 5, 2003: NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (Netscreen) announced that two of its integrated firewall/virtual private network products - the NetScreen-5200 system and the NetScreen-5GT appliance - and the NetScreen-IDP 100 intrusion detection and prevention solution received top ratings in one of the largest-scale and most comprehensive third-party benchmark tests conducted by the Network Benchmarking Lab (NBL) of the Industry Technology Research Institute at National Chiao Tung University (ITRI-NCTU) in Taiwan. This is the third year in a row that NetScreen has received top honors from this organization.
In the "2003 Network Security Benchmark Test", a total of 25 products from 16 vendors were evaluated on performance, ease of use, management, interoperability and detection capabilities, among others. According to the test results:
* The NetScreen-5200, received kudos for performance - "the performance of the NetScreen-5200 exceeded that of all products submitted in the carrier category"
* The NetScreen-IDP 100 was awarded "Best Product Performance" and "Best Total Cost of Ownership Product" in the IDS category.
* The NetScreen-5GT was awarded the "Best Product Performance" and "Best Total Cost of Ownership Product" in the SOHO category of firewall/VPN solutions.
"Results from the benchmark test are of special significance to us.
