NetScreen Introduces New 5XT Features
November 12, 2002 -- Internet security solution provider NetScreen Technologies Inc. (NetScreen.com) announced last week that it has introduced new features for the NetScreen-5XT designed to increase the level of security provided for enterprises seeking to secure remote sites and telecommuters.
Along with a new Restricted Zone feature, the new features include fail-over and fail-back functionality and expanded router interoperability.
The Restricted Zone feature allows remote sites to establish two security segments, isolating different internal networks or PCs, enabling work PCs to be separated from other PCs, ensuring that only specified machines can access the corporate VPN.
"Remote sites with multiple connection requirements often create unique problems for the network manager," said David Flynn, vice president of marketing at NetScreen. "The new software for the NetScreen-5XT not only increases the overall security and resiliency for highly distributed enterprises, it eases management and deployment for administrators, minimizing the time and costs associated with addressing remote issues."
