NetScreen Products Named Award Finalists

April 5, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- NetScreen Technologies Inc. (netscreen.com), a developer of Internet security systems, announced this week that two of its flagship products, the NetScreen-1000 Multi-Gigabit Security System and NetScreen-Global PRO policy-based security management platform, have been selected by Network Computing (networkcomputing.com) as finalists in the publication’s Well Connected Awards.

Sponsored by Network Computing magazine, says NetScreen, the Well Connected Awards honor innovation and performance in technology products. The publication’s editors select the nominees for the award based on products, technologies and services that have been reviewed in the magazine, tested in real world situations or have become familiar through their coverage of the networking market.

The NetScreen-1000, says NetScreen, was selected as a finalist in the high-availability firewall category, based on its redundancy, functionality and ASIC-based design. The product, says the company, combines firewall and VPN functionality with multi-gigabit performance.

Netscreen-Global PRO is a finalist in the distributed firewall category, chosen based on its ability to provide security management for up to 10,000 of its firewall/VPN devices for service providers and enterprises. The product, says NetScreen, enables security managers to create VPNs through drag-and-drop management.

This year’s winners, says NetScreen, will be announced before the Networld+Interop 2002 Las Vegas tradeshow, and covered in the May 13th issue of Network Computing.
