Mi8 Introduces OnSight Exchange System
July 25, 2002 -- Email and collaboration application services provider Mi8 Corporation (Mi8) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a new messaging solution, the OnSight Exchange System, combining the software-as-a-service model and traditional enterprise software installation.
The OnSite Exchange System, says Mi8, is a Microsoft Exchange solution installed on the customer’s premises and managed by Mi8’s operations team from the company’s network operations centers. The system includes clustered Exchange Servers, RAID storage and full security, network connectivity and backup systems residing at the customer site and connected to the Mi8 NOC through a virtual private network.
Mi8 says its OnSight Exchange System eliminates the need for companies to go through lengthy architecting and hiring or training processes when deploying or upgrading Microsoft Exchange.
"We've poured everything we've learned as the hosted Exchange market leader into the design and operation of this system," says Dave Castellani, CEO and co-founder of Mi8 Corp. "Simply put, we package Mi8 Corporation's expertise in a box and ship it to the customer's location, and we become an extension of their infrastructure and operations."
