Laurel Networks Demos MPLS Carrier Services
May 26, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Network equipment maker Laurel Networks (LaurelNetworks.com) announced this week that it had participated successfully in the MPLS/Frame Relay Alliance Interoperability Demonstration conducted at the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Laboratory among 12 companies.
Laurel says it showcased MPLS carrier services, including ATM, Frame Relay and Ethernet Layer 2 VPNs and IP VPNs on its ST200 Service Edge Router.
"Laurel is a clear innovator in the development of MPLS-based service offerings. In 2001, we shipped the industry's first multi-service over MPLS solution to enable interworking between ATM, Frame Relay and Ethernet-connected sites and today offer the most scalable MPLS IP VPN solution," said Steve Vogelsang, Laurel Networks co-founder and vice president of marketing. "This latest event highlights the increasing adoption of MPLS-based services as carriers evolve to a common packet infrastructure."
