IP Dynamics Enables Software-Based VPN Service
October 24, 2002 -- Communication software developer IP Dynamics (IPDynamics.com) announced on Wednesday that its software is being used to power the first managed software-based VPN service offered by a major carrier.
The service, says IP Dynamics, allows customers to set up secure communities, providing flexible access to any application, from any device, over any network or via the Internet.
Customers are using the service to create a flexible way for employees to communicate, in the process saving significantly on capital and operating expenses.
The service uses IP Dynamics’ Domain Name Routing and peer-to-peer technology for collaborative communications, a patented software platform that IP Dynamics says simplifies the creation and administration of global workgroups.
Through the first carrier-offered managed software-based service, says IP Dynamics, customers can avoid the cost of buying and supporting equipment. Deployment is handled from an Internet data center, and customers receive comprehensive management and 24 x7 support. The service carries a monthly subscription charge of $15 to $25 per user.
"Organizations of all sizes today are looking for lower-cost ways to secure sensitive information resources without restricting the immediate, flexible access users need to effectively compete," says Alain Couder, IP Dynamics' president and CEO. "IP Dynamics delivers a new level of network and application-independent security features that are simple to deploy and administer."
