IDT, SafeNet Partner for SME VPN Security
April 21, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Communications company IDT (IDT.com) and network security solutions provider SafeNet Inc. (SafeNet-Inc.com) announced on Monday that they have partnered to develop a complete hardware and software VPN gateway reference platform.
The security-accelerated platform, say the companies, is based on SafeNet's SafeXcel-1141 and SafeXcel-1731 co-processors and the IDT RC32438 Interprise integrated communications processor. The offering also integrates a full suite of iGateway VPN/firewall security software and support from embedded security software developer Intoto.
The platform, say the companies, reduces time to market for designers targeting the small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) market for gateway applications and VPN and firewall appliances.
"IDT has had a successful history of providing high-performance integrated processors and the IDT RC32438 processor provides a scalable range of security solutions when interfaced to our SafeXcel chips," said Anthony Caputo, chairman and CEO at SafeNet, Inc. "Together with Intoto, we are able to deliver a complete and integrated solution for our customers that addresses the time-to-market requirements for today's VPN gateways and appliances."
