Flow Communications Uses Quintum's Tenor Products
June 12, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- VoIP solutions developer Quintum Technologies Inc. (Quintum.com) announced on Monday that its Australian distributor Comms Connect has entered into an agreement with FlowCom Limited subsidiary FLOW Communications (FLOW.com.au) to expand its network’s capacity for voice solutions using Quintum’s Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches.
"FLOW looked at a number of VOIP alternatives," says general manager of sales and products, Chris Sharpe, "and Comms Connect offered the best solution with Quintum’s products to provide a reliable and effective service to our customers. The delivery of a VoIP solution on an end-to-end service enables FLOW to offer additional services and benefits to our new and existing customers and to target new market areas, with substantial savings."
FLOW, says Quintum, is expanding its wholesale and retail voice products and has been introducing a range of voice solutions. The company will initially deploy the Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch (CMS) with Gatekeeper functionality in the core of its network along with Tenor Digital units installed as endpoints in various locations.
"The Tenor switches offer patented SelectNet technology which provides the QoS that so many service providers require in a solution," says Charles Rutledge, vice president of marketing for Quintum. "SelectNet, in conjunction with the MultiPath call routing and PacketSaver multiplexing functionality provide a complete solution for service providers and enterprises alike."
FLOW says the agreement will allow it, using its own FLOW network, to offer customers savings on the cost of local, national and international calls. The company will also be able to offer a bundled voice and data solution to the market through its established channels.
