eSoft Commments on VPNC Testing
August 1, 2002 -- Internet security provider eSoft Inc. (eSoft.com) commented Thursday on its InstaGate product’s successfully passing independent testing by the VPN Consortium for interoperability with other IPsec VPN products.
eSoft says that, along with proving the product’s interoperability with other products, the certification reinforces the company’s commitment to Internet standards.
"We believe that our compliance with published IPsec standards demonstrates our commitment to simplifying VPN usage while also effectively reducing costs," says Bob Hartman, vice president of engineering for eSoft. "This testing proves that eSoft's products can be used in a multi-vendor VPN environment which simplifies the process of implementing a VPN for both current and potential eSoft customers."
The InstaGate appliance is one of an initial group of eight products to pass the VPNC interoperability testing. The products were all tested against each other to verify interoperability.
"eSoft has been a long standing member of VPNC and through their participation in this testing, they continue to recognize the importance of VPN interoperability and are very committed to providing simplified VPN solutions to their customers," said Paul Hoffman, director for VPNC.
