eSoft Introduces VPN Management Offerings

April 4, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- eSoft Inc. (esoft.com), an Internet security solution provider, introduced on Wednesday its newest Internet security solutions, expanding its focus to include the enterprise and branch office markets, as well as unveiling a global VPN management solution.

The company says it has expanded its product line to include the InstaGate PRO for enterprises, the InstaGate EX2-10 for small branches and remote offices and the VPN Manager SoftPak application for centralized global VPN management.

The InstaGate PRO VPN/firewall appliance, says eSoft, is designed to meet the needs of larger organizations. It delivers the highest throughput and performance levels available from the InstaGate product line, and delivers virtual private networking for branch offices and remote users through IPSec and PPTP tunneling. The InstaGate PRO product comes with an unlimited user license.

The InstaGate EX2-10 is designed to meet the needs of branch offices, remote offices and SOHOs. The product, says eSoft, provides the same features as the InstaGate EX2 at a more affordable price. The product is available with a 10-user license.

Both devices, says eSoft, include automatic software updates and the company’s SoftPak management applications. The PRO has a suggested price of $2,999 and the EX2-10 has a suggested price of $699.

eSoft’s VPN Manager SoftPak application provides centralized global VPN management for multiple office networks and remote users. VPN Manager, says the company, uses a Web portal to simplify the management of a company’s VPN solution. VPN parameters are defined through a central Web portal and then distributed to the InstaGate devices. The product does not require additional hardware expenses on the part of the customer, and new offices and users can easily be added to the system, says eSoft.

"We view distributed enterprise VPN networks as a key growth market for eSoft and are seeing organizations at all levels increasingly viewing VPN as the security foundation for all of their Internet-based communication needs,” says Bob Hartman, vice president of engineering for eSoft. “The introduction of the VPN Manager SoftPak will enable us to maximize our product offering while also meeting the need for global VPN management within the marketplace."
