ESI Expands VoIP Product Line with IP Gateway
August 16, 2002 -- IP telephone system developer Estech Systems Incorporated (ESI) (ESI-Estech.com) announced this week that it has released its ESI IP Gateway, a powerful system for linking non-ESI PBX technology in the corporate office with branch offices using ESI equipment using their existing IP network.
The ESI phone systems in the branch offices are linked through Esi-Link, a software enhancement designed to provide advanced feature transparency between systems. ESI says its IP Gateway extends Esi-Link’s connectivity to include non-ESI PBXs.
ESI says the IP Gateway offers a range of telephony features in addition to the capabilities of VoIP. The company says using a data network to route telephone calls gives businesses the opportunity to eliminate costs. And using the gateway, says ESI, users can dial, transfer to and page employees in branch locations.
"The addition of the ESI IP Gateway to our product line gives larger organizations that have already invested in a PBX for their corporate office the ability to integrate all of their locations using our compelling VoIP package," says Eric Suder, ESI's founder and CEO. "Our engineers have designed the ESI IP Gateway so that customers with multiple non-VoIP compliant telephone systems can still use their data network for their voice traffic."
