Equant Provides IP VPN Solution for Trelleborg
November 5, 2002 -- Data and IP services for multinational business Equant (Equant.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a three-year $4.7 million contract to provide a customized IP VPN solution for Trelleborg AB.
Based in Trelleborg, Sweden, Trelleborg AB is a leading supplier of automotive components, including wheels and tires, industrial rubber, building products and other specialized items. The Equant MPLS-based IP VPN Solution will connect all of Trelleborg’s 15,500 employees through 90 sites in 40 countries.
"Trelleborg AB selected Equant through a highly competitive bidding process and based its decision on the fact that Equant met all of Trelleborg's needs as a single supplier," said Peter Billquist, senior vice president, Trelleborg AB. "Our requirements were extensive and included global coverage, any-to-any connectivity, great flexibility and scalability, the ability to prioritize traffic, remote access for traveling colleagues and, on top of it all, strong security."
Equant says its IP VPN solution includes around-the-clock network monitoring, managed firewall and anti-virus servers administered and maintained by Equant. Mobile employees and home workers can connect securely using an ordinary telephone, ISDN or mobile network connection.
