Equant IP VPN Links 38 Willis Group Sites
October 24, 2002 -- Data and IP services provider Equant announced on Tuesday that it has signed a five-year, $4 million contract with global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings to link the company’s worldwide sites with a customized IP VPN Solution.
The new contract expands Equant’s existing three-year relationship with Willis Group, which develops and delivers professional insurance, reinsurance, financial and human resource consulting and actuarial services to corporations, public entities and institutions around the world.
"Equant's global coverage provides us with the confidence that wherever we do business, we can plug into the network and be supported," says Bob Guill, Global Network manager at Willis. "We see technology as an essential enabler, helping us to operate globally, to share information across all our sites and as an integral part of growing our business. Developing an IP VPN means that we will be able to operate more cost-effectively with less risk because traffic is transported over a protected and reliable IP network."
With Equant’s IP VPN, Willis’s international data, IP, video and voice traffic can be carried over a single high-speed network, delivering real-time insurance quotes to customers; scaling to support Willis’s growing business requirements; providing any-to-any connectivity; enabling new business applications to be rapidly deployed over the entire network; and allowing traffic to be prioritized, optimizing application performance.
