Equant Provides IP VPN to Koninklijke Wessanen
August 6, 2002 -- IP and data service provider Equant (Equant.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Netherlands-based food company Koninklijke Wessanen NV to implement an advanced global data and voice IP VPN.
Wessanen, says Equant, is the parent of 16 companies located in 10 countries, including Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, UK and the US. Equant says its IP VPN will connect a total of 40 locations around the world.
Before signing the new agreement with Equant, Wessanen used two different providers for its international communications in Europe and the US.
"Koninklijke Wessanen's policy of acquiring both smaller and larger companies in countries around the world requires a flexible and highly scalable solution," says Jacqueline Brouwers, the company’s corporate staff director, information and computer technology. "Equant IPVPN enables new companies to be connected quickly and smoothly with a standardized infrastructure, speeding up integration of our acquisitions."
As new companies are brought online, says Equant, the network infrastructure allows them access to the community of interest, including internal users, remote users and partners. They also have immediate access to applications, including Lotus Notes-based corporate messaging and enterprise resource management applications.
