Equant VoIP Service Available in 60 Countries
July 23, 2002 -- Data and IP services provider Equant (Equant.com) announced on Monday that its carrier-grade desktop-to-desktop IP telephony service is now available in 60 countries.
The company says it has already begun deploying IP telephony with three major multinational corporations. The IP telephony solution, says Equant, enables multinationational corporations to use their network investments to deliver both data and voice services to their offices around the world.
The benefits for these companies, says Equant, include savings on capital and operating expenses, smooth migration from traditional PBX and voice services and a platform for productivity-enhancing applications.
"The global availability of IP Telephony marks a major step for us in providing a complete suite of voice services that enables multinational companies to move seamlessly from traditional switched telephone services to Internet Protocol telephony systems," says Arjen Maarleveld, president of Products, Equant. "Equant is delivering an end-to-end solution from design to implementation, IP Phone to desktop and user to network. We believe our service fully addresses the needs of our multinational customers in this important technology transition."
