Equant IP VPN Connects Ficosa Offices
July 16, 2002 -- IP and data service provider Equant (Equant.com) announced on Tuesday that it will provide a customized IP VPN solution for automotive industry supplier Ficosa International, interconnecting more than 20 offices in 12 countries.
According to the four-year agreement, Equant will become Ficosa’s exclusive network services provider, supplying a portfolio of services through its Equant IP VPN. The service, says Equant, combines data and voice communications on a single IP connection, and will connect Ficosa’s employees, customers, partners and suppliers.
"Our mission is to grow and develop our company as a competitive and high-quality global provider," says Sandro Bosch, head of information technology at Ficosa. "Speed and efficiency in communications are key elements for our development, and we look to Equant to provide them."
Equant says the VPN solution will enable Ficosa to service customers more effectively in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US. The closer contact between design teams, researchers and customers will mean that new designs can be more quickly incorporated into cars.
