Equant to Provide IP VPN for Unaxis Group
March 26, 2003 -- (FIND VPN) -- Global and data IP services provider Equant (Equant.com) announced on Wednesday that it has implemented a 22-country IP VPN for IT production systems, components and services provider the Unaxis Group.
Based in Switzerland, says Equant, Unaxis is using the IP VPN to link its production and distribution companies in Asia, Europe and North America, with remote access for employees using Equant IP Dial.
The solution is replacing a frame relay-based network that connects more than 6,700 employees in six of Unaxis's eight global divisions. According to the company, the frame relay network was no longer able to satisfy Unaxis's growing requirements.
Equant says the integrated IP VPN solution will enable any-to-any communications between the company's global locations; create a secure environment for business applications; give remote users access to business systems; and allow simple expansion of bandwidth and connections in line with business needs.
"As a leading high-tech company, Unaxis stands to benefit from the seamless IP architecture, excellent availability and high reliability of our network infrastructure," said Michel Picaud, Equant's senior vice president, markets and sales, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. "Providing mission-critical services to Unaxis gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our global presence, our competence as a stable industry leader and our advanced product portfolio."
